Mineral Palace Park (near the greenhouse)
In May of 2003, the Public Awareness Workgroup of the Pilot (now known as the Early Childhood Council) began the Tree of Life Project. The tree is intended to acknowledge the tremendous value of our most precious resource, our children. The tree stands as a symbol of the care and nurturing required for our children to grow into strong, proud, contributing members of the Pueblo community. The red leaf maple, chosen for the diversity of colors, was dedicated in June of 2003. Planted in Mineral Palace Park near the greenhouses the Tree of Life serves as a meeting place for anyone interested in celebrating our children.
Parents, Family Child Care homes and Center/Preschool Child Care Providers are asked to have children bring creative, nature friendly items to decorate our tree and the surrounding trees.
